Like Diogenes

Its pillars of stone and crevice

Cold and searing hot

sharp-surfaced

Stop tearing burning at my flesh!

Red angry skies confuse the mind

Squeeze through the narrow

opening between cruel towering

rock and rock and more rock

It’s scraped away my flesh

Exposing bone and sinew

Muscle and meat

The Slowing Time

Strands of long looping brown hair

Gently floating in the breeze.

Chilled wafts of dancing air

cooling my pale skin.

Shoulders chest cheeks

Cooled near shivering.

 

Where do I begin?

 

I feel that I am lost

some say it’s true.

Some say it’s not.

I feel the slowing time race through

Toward the divine.

Nearly out of time.

Man Enough

Are you man enough to handle me

Sweet enough to care

When darkness falls upon me

Tightly

engulfs me in its snare?

Are you kind enough to look upon

My face smudged up in tears

Strong enough to revel in

My twirling and my fears?

When you lay your cheek upon the sheet

at night to sleep and dream
